Hale Cusick grew up in New York but has always felt a strong connection to her Southern roots. After moving to Alabama, she embarked on a mission to surround herself with more color, mindfulness, kindness, and fun. Waterloo became her new safe haven for a fresh adventure.

Hale holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Fine Art.   She has completed master classes in interior design and plans to integrate art therapy into her future work. She draws inspiration from her parents, whose love of life and art greatly influenced her to see the world with open eyes and an open heart.  They introduced her to various creative skills at a young age, emphasizing how imagination can flourish through eclectic forms such as reading, writing, music, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. For them, the process of creating art—the experience of the journey—is more valuable than the final product. A piece of art is never truly finished; it serves as a means of self-exploration and growth, igniting the senses as it evolves alongside the artist.

Throughout her life, art has been a saving grace. This became especially clear during her recovery from a stroke and the post-stroke challenges. The creative process demonstrates how powerful art can be as a tool for managing mental health and rejuvenating the soul.  This tool offers numerous benefits, contributing to cognitive development, enhancing social skills, and fostering empathy and acceptance.  Art also improves fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and even contributes to physical well-being.
